New Project Nearing Completion; Details Coming Soon!

I've mentioned a few times that I've had a release to follow-up Leadsucker in the works for quite some time now, and it's finally nearing completion!  I'm still finalizing the music on a few tracks, as well as trying to figure out a full track listing (we have recorded an overabundance of songs), so those are a couple things I'd like to finish up before I announce full info, but we did just land a vocalist, so that's a huge step forward.  Once vocals are laid down, which should happen by the end of July, then it's off to be mixed, mastered, and then finally released!

All I have said is that this project will be a complete 180 from Leadsucker...and that might be the understatement of the year.  For those of you turned off by our hardcore punk project (and I'm sure there were many), this one just might be down your alley.  We've always touted our label as having a "diverse", or even "eclectic" group of artists, and we wanted to make that apparent right from the get-go.

We are still aiming to have this project done, and out, by the 4th quarter of this year, which will be a very tight timeframe, but at the current rate things are moving, it looks like it's going to be attainable.  Expect full details by the end of July, or early August.  In the meantime, you can also follow us on Twitter @ToxicHighwayRec, which is our brand new Twitter handle for all things related to the record label.

Thanks for stopping by, and we look forward to unveiling some information to you in the very near future!

New Project Details Announced Soon!

It doesn't really feel like it, but it's been over a year since Leadsucker's "Burn", our debut album, was released in August, 2013, and while there hasn't been much news from us since then, it certainly doesn't mean that nothing's going on behind the scenes!

We are always working on writing and recording new music, and while personal commitments (like work...ugh) and other hobbies prevent us from getting things done as quickly as we would like, that won't stop us from forging onward and completing them as soon as we can!

With that in mind, we are close to announcing details on our next project.  It won't be ready until mid-2015 at the earliest, but it's coming along at a solid quip and is starting to take shape, so we felt it's closing in on the right time to give people a head's up as to what's been taking up our time for the better part of the last year.

Just a hint in the meantime: it's NOTHING like Leadsucker.  As complete a 180-degree turn as could be physically possible.  We have a wide range of projects planned covering several different genres, and don't want to give the illusion that we are only a "hardcore" label, or only cater to certain musical styles.  In other words, we have something for just about anyone to enjoy, as you will eventually see as the releases start building up.

For the latest automated information, head on over to Twitter and follow us @ToxicHighway.  Don't be alarmed that it's a personal Twitter account right now (since there's usually a while between releases, there was no point in me creating two different ones)--once the news starts hitting, it will seamlessly port over to a label account providing all the latest details and information on the next album.

As always, we thank you for reading, and hope you are as excited as we are about what the future of Toxic Highway holds!

LEADSUCKER Release Second Set of "Doubles"

Hardcore punk band Leadsucker have released two new tracks from their forthcoming effort, "Burn", coming August 28th via Toxic Highway Recordings.  "Gross Misconduct" rips apart someone that was once closer to guitarist/vocalist P.J. Hearn than he would have liked (with standout lines such as "You couldn't command a room if you were the only one in it"), while album-closer "C57BL/6" attacks the food industry with a critical eye ("They're shoving shit down our throat that dogs won't eat, then feigning shock that disease is on the rise").  Both of these tracks, as well as the first set of doubles, are available below to both stream and/or download. "Burn" is an unrelenting album that documents an unquestioned government running amok, taking advantage of the very citizens it pretends to protect. It is available as a pre-order in iTunes for the ridiculously low-price of $7.99, amounting to just over a quarter per track. See below post for details. Additionally, it will be available in CD form, with pre-orders opening on those as early as next week. Stay tuned for details.

Pre-Order "Burn" on iTunes; Official Track Listing Unveiled

The release of Leadsucker's debut album, "Burn", is still over a month away.  But you can ease the waiting pains by pre-ordering your very own digital copy of the disc over at iTunes for just $7.99, which is just over a quarter per track, and you will receive it on the release date.  Even if you're not planning on buying the disc, click on the link anyway.  You can just listen to 30-second clips of every song...which comes out to at least 75% of the entire album.  Who knows?  Maybe it will change your mind.

It will also be available in CD form for those that still favor physical releases, so stay tuned for more information on that.

Going hand-in-hand with this news is the finalized track list for "Burn":

1.) America Doesn't Give a Fuck About You
2.) What Rights?
3.) Every Child Left Behind
4.) No Quarter for Wild Beasts
5.) No Intelligence
6.) State of No Cure
7.) ThinThread
8.) The Color of Justice is White
9.) Gross Incompetence
10.) Cardinal Sin
11.) Vitriolage
12.) The Dangers of Questioning Government Actions
13.) Never-Ending Cycle
14.) Armchair Journalism
15.) Blowback
16.) Disposition Matrix
17.) Obituary of the American Dream
18.) Two Cents Too Many
19.) You Were Supposed to Die
20.) Haute Couture
21.) Collapse
22.) One Minus One
23.) An Eye for a Tooth
24.) Seed of Evil
25.) Survivor Guilt
26.) Imaginary Men
27.) Piss-Ant
28.) Your Vote Doesn't Mean Shit
29.) Gag Reflex
30.) C57BL/6

"Burn" is an album guaranteed to divide listeners right down the middle, with its abrasive, political lyrics, written (and screamed) by P.J. Hearn, a former government employee who became the target of retaliatory attacks after reporting some suspicious activity within his own department.  He eventually quit his job, and started Leadsucker as a means to channel his rage.

It will be released on August 28th via Toxic Highway Recordings.
