SONGS FOR HYMN: Track Listing Revealed; 4th Quarter Release Date Confirmed!

At long last, some newly-finalized details for Toxic Highway's newest release, "Songs for Hymn", a 12-track collection of hymns, are starting to pour in!  The twelve tracks are as follows, in no particular order:
  • How Great Thou Art
  • Are You Washed in the Blood?
  • A Mighty Fortress is Our God
  • God Be With You Till We Meet Again
  • I Love to Tell the Story
  • I'll Fly Away
  • In the Garden
  • What a Friend We Have in Jesus
  • Victory in Jesus
  • Amazing Grace
  • Leaning on the Everlasting Arms
  • Battle Hymn of the Republic
And while we still don't have a specific release date (there's been a slight holdup on mixing that's making it hard to pinpoint an exact date, as of now), we CAN confirm that it will be out before the end of the year.  It was on par for a release some time in October, but that plan has been slightly derailed, making November the most likely candidate.

As a reminder, you can listen to a mixed, but unmastered, demo of "A Mighty Fortress is Our God" by clicking on the name. Expect some more information, like a finalized order, album artwork, and a guaranteed release date, coming next month!

ANNOUNCEMENT: "Songs for Hymn", Coming 4th Quarter, 2015

At long last, the first details are starting to come out for Toxic Highway's next release, our first since hardcore punk band Leadsucker's 2013 debut, "Burn".  We promised that it would be a complete 180-degree turn from that record, and what could be a more insane followup than a...hymn CD?!

But it's not just a straight-up hymn CD.  "Songs for Hymn" will feature 12 tracks, with one unique novelty that sets it apart from the "typical" hymn collection: The instruments, and thus the feel of the song, change after each verse, meaning some songs can sound like three-or-four different hymns in one.  Sometimes it's playful, sometimes it's beautiful, and sometimes it's haunting, but it's certainly unique.

Don't let the description scare you, though: Each song on the CD remains faithful to the original source material.  This means the lyrics stay true to the original hymns (with some songs even utilizing alternate or "forgotten" verses), the music still follows the same chord progressions, and the recognizable melodies will have you singing along, no matter what the music may sound like.

We are still ironing out several details, including album artwork, release date info, and even a finalized track listing, so all that will have to wait for a little while.  But we felt like we've been leading you guys on long enough and felt this was as good a time as any to let you know what we've been doing the last couple of years.  As an added bonus, you can go ahead and listen to work-in-progress version of "A Mighty Fortress is Our God", courtesy of our SoundCloud page.

If you like what you hear, you can follow us on Twitter @ToxicHighwayRec, which is updated with all the latest news and info (for example, a link to this song was already posted there several days ago!).  We appreciate your interest, and thanks for checking us out!  We look forward to fleshing out the remaining details, which we will honestly do the moment we ourselves know for sure what's going on with this disc.  Thanks!

LEADSUCKER Release Second Set of "Doubles"

Hardcore punk band Leadsucker have released two new tracks from their forthcoming effort, "Burn", coming August 28th via Toxic Highway Recordings.  "Gross Misconduct" rips apart someone that was once closer to guitarist/vocalist P.J. Hearn than he would have liked (with standout lines such as "You couldn't command a room if you were the only one in it"), while album-closer "C57BL/6" attacks the food industry with a critical eye ("They're shoving shit down our throat that dogs won't eat, then feigning shock that disease is on the rise").  Both of these tracks, as well as the first set of doubles, are available below to both stream and/or download. "Burn" is an unrelenting album that documents an unquestioned government running amok, taking advantage of the very citizens it pretends to protect. It is available as a pre-order in iTunes for the ridiculously low-price of $7.99, amounting to just over a quarter per track. See below post for details. Additionally, it will be available in CD form, with pre-orders opening on those as early as next week. Stay tuned for details.

Pre-Order "Burn" on iTunes; Official Track Listing Unveiled

The release of Leadsucker's debut album, "Burn", is still over a month away.  But you can ease the waiting pains by pre-ordering your very own digital copy of the disc over at iTunes for just $7.99, which is just over a quarter per track, and you will receive it on the release date.  Even if you're not planning on buying the disc, click on the link anyway.  You can just listen to 30-second clips of every song...which comes out to at least 75% of the entire album.  Who knows?  Maybe it will change your mind.

It will also be available in CD form for those that still favor physical releases, so stay tuned for more information on that.

Going hand-in-hand with this news is the finalized track list for "Burn":

1.) America Doesn't Give a Fuck About You
2.) What Rights?
3.) Every Child Left Behind
4.) No Quarter for Wild Beasts
5.) No Intelligence
6.) State of No Cure
7.) ThinThread
8.) The Color of Justice is White
9.) Gross Incompetence
10.) Cardinal Sin
11.) Vitriolage
12.) The Dangers of Questioning Government Actions
13.) Never-Ending Cycle
14.) Armchair Journalism
15.) Blowback
16.) Disposition Matrix
17.) Obituary of the American Dream
18.) Two Cents Too Many
19.) You Were Supposed to Die
20.) Haute Couture
21.) Collapse
22.) One Minus One
23.) An Eye for a Tooth
24.) Seed of Evil
25.) Survivor Guilt
26.) Imaginary Men
27.) Piss-Ant
28.) Your Vote Doesn't Mean Shit
29.) Gag Reflex
30.) C57BL/6

"Burn" is an album guaranteed to divide listeners right down the middle, with its abrasive, political lyrics, written (and screamed) by P.J. Hearn, a former government employee who became the target of retaliatory attacks after reporting some suspicious activity within his own department.  He eventually quit his job, and started Leadsucker as a means to channel his rage.

It will be released on August 28th via Toxic Highway Recordings.
